Kinsale Mobile was formed in 2003 by a team of telecom, internet and brand people from the USA and Europe. It is headquartered in Dublin Ireland with local presence in Portugal, UK, and USA (Boston and San Francisco).

The company was formed specifically to target the emerging markets that blend the mobile device with the brand – a blending that place values not just on the bandwidth, but on the use of the bandwidth. The “brand in their hand” vision is a blend of visions from branded offerings like MBNA and FairMarket (now eBay), from wireless operators like BT and DoCoMo, and from the enabling approaches of the traditional OEMs like Retix and Openet.

And you can’t look back without also looking forward: We believe that the future of mobile services is not limited by the technology – but by the trust that consumers put in their providers. The emergence of MVNOs is one step closer to the vision of trust providers – and the emergence of intermediation of services from the brands that are trusted by each specific consumer.
